After the big fire that destroyed Skul Bilong Mekim Piksa’s building, Chris Owen, who was then working as ethnographer filmmaker at the Institute of Papua New Guinea Studies was sent up to Goroka to bring it out of the ashes and guide it into changing film making world. These are the pictures. There is but little record of what was before the fire as all and all films made by the first PNG filmmakers were destroyed in the fire.
